Tim burton victor12/2/2023 While horror was Burton’s bread and butter, he also dabbled in other genres. His published books include Burton on Burton (1995), The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy & Other Stories (1997), and The Napkin Art of Tim Burton: Things You Think About in a Bar (2015). Throughout his career, Burton has won 8 Academy Awards, 6 BAFTA Awards, and 4 Golden Globe Awards.Īside from his film career, Burton is also a successful author. It didn’t take long before Burton made a name for himself as his films premiered all over the world. Soon after, Burton continued to make short films, live-action productions, and film adaptations. The first was Vincent (1982), a short stop motion animation and Disney’s second-ever horror film. When his concept arts did not make it into most films, Burton decided to write and produce films of his own. In fact, Burton started as an apprentice of Walt Disney Animation Studios (WADS). Aside from being a film director and producer, he is also a prolific screenwriter, animator, and artist. Tim Burton, or Timothy Walter Burton, is a famous film director and producer from Burbank, California. If you’re interested in learning more about the famous Tim Burton characters, then keep on reading! Who is Tim Burton? Image from Flickrīefore anything else, it’s important to first introduce the man himself. I watched it all when I was small. It’s been years since Burton released some of his popular films, but Edward Scissorhands, Jack Skellington, and The Joker remain iconic today. I loved the character so much because its a big personality in a small hand. You must have been a big fan of The Addams Family and Thing before you did this? The only tattoo I did during the shootings was I have the Nightshade Society symbol on my chest tattooed. I’m like the Tasmanian devil.Īnd also, on the other hand, I have a small tattoo of Thing, which I did a couple of years ago without knowing that I will be Thing. And on the thumb I have lightning because I’m…I don’t know how to say it. There are some moments in life when you just want to pause them and enjoy it more and some moments when you would want to rewind and see it again. Yeah, when I did them, I thought of having the possibility to pause or to play life. Yes, I did them way before the shootings happened and the prosthetic team spent a lot of time to cover them with paints and stuff like that.Īre they the play, pause, and fast forward symbols? I see you have some tattoos on the fingers of your Thing hand. We tried to elevate even the smallest movement to the max. We don’t do too much body language and stuff like that. If you look at it, we don’t do too much movement. So, me and Tim and the VFX team tried to come up with ways to bring all that attention to small details. It’s exactly how you say, because magicians don’t want to bring attention to their hands. Yet with Thing, you want to be seen, you need to project emotion through your movements. I was curious about that, because one aspect of being a magician is preventing the audience from noticing what your hands are doing. So all of that gathered up bring the qualities that we needed. Also, I play the guitar a lot, so maybe that helps too because you have to train your fingers all the time. But the fact that magicians are used to doing repetitive work over and over and over again helped a lot, a lot. I don’t think the part of me being a magician helped so much for Thing because magicians are very mechanical with their hands. Given that Christopher Hart from the 1990s Addams Family movies was also a magician, is that crucial work experience for Thing?
